
Prostate Surgery: Traditional or Laparoscopic?
Science and medicine has advanced greatly in recent years, research and large companies increasingly invest money in creating new remedies as well as equipment and techniques to cure specific diseases, but new developments are better than traditional techniques?
According to research conducted by the Cancer Center Memorial Sloan Kettetions in New York, United States, the laparoscopic technique with help of a robot, would not provide better results than traditional surgery to treat prostate cancer.
In the prior art, to remove the prostate gland cancer, it must make an incision in the abdomen of 15 cm with the laparoscopic technique, several incisions are made in the patient’s abdominal area in order to introduce the means to make such surgery is also a camera.
But it offered no data studies very different in what concerns the death rate of patients or postoperative complications, the patient always has the option of selecting which method is preferred
